1. Who we are
Quizilla ("we", "us", "our") operates the quiz platform available at quizilla.ai. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name and email address. If you sign in via Google we also receive your profile picture. Passwords are never stored by Quizilla — authentication is handled by Clerk.
Usage data
We collect information about how you use the platform: quizzes created, campaigns run, AI questions generated, credits purchased, and analytics data derived from quiz participants.
Participant data
When someone takes a quiz, we collect their responses, score, and time taken. If a quiz requires a name or email address, that information is stored and visible to the quiz creator. Participants should be made aware of this by the quiz creator before taking the quiz.
Payment data
Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. We do not store credit card numbers or other payment instrument details. We receive confirmation of successful purchases and store your LemonSqueezy customer ID so we can apply credits to your workspace and provide purchase support.
Credit transaction data
We maintain a record of all credit transactions (purchases, deductions, and bonuses) associated with your workspace. This data is used to calculate your current balance and provide transaction history.
3. How we use your information
- To provide and improve the Quizilla service
- To calculate and display your credit balance and transaction history
- To send transactional emails (welcome, quiz results, team invites, purchase confirmations)
- To send SMS or WhatsApp reminders on behalf of quiz creators (using credits)
- To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
- To respond to support requests
- To analyse usage patterns and improve features (aggregated, not sold)
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Clerk — authentication and user management
- LemonSqueezy — payment processing for credit packs
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Twilio — SMS delivery
- Anthropic Claude — AI question generation (quiz content only, no personally identifiable information is sent)
5. Data retention
We retain your account and credit transaction data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer (for example, financial transaction records). Credit transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (session management via Clerk). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, but the app will not function correctly without session cookies.
7. Data security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, hashed credentials, and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately at support@quizilla.ai.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us at support@quizilla.ai. You can also delete your account directly from the Settings page. Note that deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund of any unused credits — please refer to our Terms of Service for the full refund policy.
9. Children
Quizilla is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use of Quizilla after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
